Libušín

Libušín is a city in the Czech Republic with an area of 9.5 km ², in the year 2006 there were 2,698 inhabitants. Libusin is located in the region Středočeský kraj, four kilometers northwest of the county town of Kladno. Libušín is located at an altitude of 317 m above sea level. M.

History

The place is mentioned in connection with the Oráč mentioned by Alois Jirásek in his legends Libuse and Premysl. In his Chronica Boemorum he describes how, after the death of Prince Krok his youngest daughter Libuse was established as queen of Libušín. From here you will have the future of Bohemia predicted and also sent messengers who should look after the Oráč Přemysl. The first written mention of place among the princes Břetislav I was around 1050, but was inhabited since the 6th to the 7th century, as evidenced by archaeological finds.

Towards the end of the 9th century a mighty fortress was built at about twelve hectares of land, which was located on the strategic point between Bohemia and the Lucko area.   • Neo-Gothic Church of St. Prokop (1908 )
  • Slavic fortress from the sixth and seventh centuries. The fixing was carried out during the ninth century. Every Sunday (24 April ) after the feast of St. James held the spectacle of a historic battle with about a thousand actors and tens of thousands of spectators in the vicinity of the former fortress.
