Lidiya Grigoryeva

Lidija Nikolaevna Grigoriev (Russian Лидия Николаевна Григорьева, English transcription Lidiya Grigoryeva, . Born 21 January 1974) is a Russian long-distance runner.

At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 she finished ninth in the 10,000 -meter run. At the 2004 Games in Athens, she was eighth after Russian champion had become over this distance earlier this year.

At the European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 2006 she took with her personal best time of 30:32,72 min finally bronze behind her compatriot Inga Abitowa and Susanne Wigene (Norway).

Now she has turned to success with longer distances, especially the marathon. In the World Half Marathon Championships, she was fourth in 2003 and 2005 Seventh. In 2005 she won the Paris Marathon, and in 2006 she won the Los Angeles Marathon in 2:25:10 hours, which represented both track record as well as a personal best. In the same year she was fifth at the New York City Marathon.

In 2007, she won the Boston Marathon under storm -like conditions in 2:29:18 h and was fourth at the New York City Marathon.

Lidija Grigorieva has a competition weight of 47 kg at a height of 1.63 m. She comes from Cheboksary and began to running at the age of 12 years. She is married, has a daughter and is trained by former Russian marathon record holder Leonid Shvetsov. Her sister Irina Timofeeva is also successful as a marathon runner.
