Liège Island

Liège Iceland or Isla Lieja is an island in the Palmer Archipelago, off the northwest coast of the Antarctic Peninsula. It is 14 km long and is located approximately 5 km north-east of the larger Brabant Island. The island was charted by the Belgica Expedition (1897-1899) under Adrien de Gerlache, who named it after the Belgian province of Liège ( Liège German ).
