Lieskovec, Zvolen District
Lieskovec (Hungarian Újmogyoród - to 1912 Mogyoród, until 1888 Lieszkóc ) is a town in central Slovakia with 1433 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011) and belongs to Okres Zvolen, kraj a circle of Banskobystrický.
Geography
The municipality is located in the central part of the basin Zvolenska kotlina the creek Hučava, five kilometers east of the center of Zvolen located.
History
Lieskovec was first mentioned in 1401 as Leskouecz writing.
1976-1990 Lieskovec was a district of Zvolen.
