Liga Amateur de Veracruz

The League Amateur de Veracruz, also known as Liga del Sur, was a football tournament between clubs from the Mexican state of Veracruz, which was held 1915-1943.

This league was commonly referred to as the third strongest league in Mexico, behind the most classified capital League and the League Amateur de Jalisco, the state championship of the state of Jalisco. While the participation of these two leagues, however, essentially limited to clubs from Mexico City and Guadalajara, the state League of Veracruz was scattered geographically and the clubs came from the port city of Veracruz, and the two cities of Córdoba and Orizaba at the foot of Pico de Orizaba, the highest mountain in Mexico. With the introduction of the Primera División in 1943, the League Amateur de Veracruz was set.
