Liga de Fútbol Indoor

The Liga de Fútbol indoor (also called Fertiberia League ) is the highest indoor football league in Spain. It exists since 2008 and is operated by the Asociación de Fútbol indoor. Since the year 2011, the League has been officially sponsor name Fertiberia League.

Clubs

The league was founded in 2008 by the nine clubs that have won the Spanish championship during their club's history at least once. These were the following teams: Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, ​​Atlético Madrid, Athletic Bilbao, Valencia, Real Sociedad, Deportivo La Coruna, Real Betis, Sevilla FC. Due to the success of the championship, the number of participating teams for the 2011 season, it was decided to increase to 20. The only condition for inclusion in the league was the ranking División to the Eternal Table of Primera. Thus, the following eleven teams were added: Espanyol, Real Zaragoza, Celta Vigo, Real Valladolid, Sporting Gijon, Racing Santander, Real Oviedo, CA Osasuna, UD Las Palmas, Málaga CF RCD Mallorca. For the 2012 season, there was a further change by shortened the number of participants to twelve teams and this was divided into two groups of six. At the same time the competition was international, integrated by FC Porto and from Mexico to Club América in the league championship in Portugal. In the 2013 season, the number of participants was set at ten teams.

Mode

The players in the league are veterans, former professional football players who have played for their respective clubs in Spanish football leagues. The ten teams are divided into two groups of five. In this group stage, each team plays once each against each opponent within the group. The clubs, which are located at the end of the regular phase of the first four places in the Table group will qualify for the quarter- finals of the play-off phase. The playoff pairings will be drawn. The winners of the knockout stages are determined in the quarter-final, semi-final and final in a single game. The winner of the finals is the champion of the League Fertiberia.

2008 was launched simultaneously with the introduction of the championship and the Copa de España in life. In knockout stages with only a decisive game the winner of the Cup competition in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals will be determined.

Since 2009 there is also the Supercup, in which the master of the League Fertiberia and the winner of the Copa de España fight for the title. If both titles fall to the same club, the Vizecupsieger be allowed to compete against the champions.

History

Prehistory

In 2002, a Christmas tournament was organized, in which the veterans of Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Real Betis and FC Barcelona faced and decided that the Royal for themselves. The first years

The kickoff of the League Placo Fútbol indoor on 11 January 2008.
