Linas and Simona

Linas & Simona is a popular pop duo from Lithuania. The two represented Lithuania at Euro Vision Song Contest 2004 in Istanbul.

Linas Adomaitis (born 10 March 1976), known as Adoms in Lithuania, comes from a musical family. His father sent him early to a prestigious music school and later studied violin at the Lithuanian Music Academy. In 2000, he launched a solo career and released in 2001 under the name Adoms his first album Q -Ba- Ba, can also be heard on the songs with Simona.

Simona Jakubėnatė (* 1984) participated in over 15 major music festivals, before looking at the Fizz contest, a sort of Germany in 2002 the superstar, also took part. You did not win this competition, but met Lina and began to make music together with him.

In 2004 Linas & Simona participated with the song What's Happened to Your Love? preliminary decision in the Lithuanian part of the Euro Vision Song Contest 2004. There was a scandal: The favorite of the fans band Amber Life was only on the third place of the preliminary decision. There were rumors that the election was rigged. However, the TV station confirmed Linas & Simona as the winner of the preliminary decision, so that the two as a representative of Lithuania were allowed to go to Istanbul.

In Istanbul they had to start in the semifinals, as Aivaras Stepukonis had only reached a 23 place at the Euro Vision Song Contest 2002 in Tallinn. Therefore had to Lithuania in 2003 to take a forced break. When they reached the semi-finals with What's Happened to Your Love? only the 16th place and could not thus qualified for the final. Linas & Simona took in connection with the Ukrainian winner of the contest, Ruslana, the single Fight for Love and Freedom, which published in 2005, appeared on the album I Love U.
