Active reactors ( gross ):

The nuclear power plant Ling'ao (alternative spelling Ling Ao ) is located in the town of Longgang District of Shenzhen City in south China's Guangdong Province. The plant belongs to the China Guangdong Nuclear Power Holding Company, Ltd.. ( CGNPC ) and operated by Lianao Nuclear Power Company ( LNPC ). It lies on the Dapeng Peninsula in the Dapeng Bay within the larger Daya Bay ( Daya Wan ).

The plant is actually a copy of the nuclear power plant Daya Wan. This is only about a kilometer southwest of Ling'ao.

The two reactors were designed by Framatome. The reactor core but was manufactured in China by Shanghai No.. 1 Machine and Tool Works. In addition to the core is from about 30 % of the work in China have been executed. Units 3 and 4 will have a higher proportion of Chinese art, planned, 50% or 70 % co-payment.

The cost for the first two reactors are estimated to four billion dollars.

The energy is transferred to the Hong Kong - Guangdong - Guangxi network. About 70 % of network energy coming to Hong Kong, where the NPP Ling'ao contributes to about 30 % of the energy supply ( 2000).

Financing

The nuclear power plant is funded by foreign investors, led by Electricité de France (EDF). The BNP (now BNP Paribas ) forms a pool with others such as the West Merchant Bank and the English branch of WestLB banks. There are also export subsidies by Coface, Compagnie Française d'Assurance pour le Commerce Extérieur (France) and ECGD, Export Credits Guarantee Department ( UK).

Reactors

There are four reactors in operation: two pressurized water reactors with a net capacity of 938 MW and a gross capacity of 990 MW and two reactors of the type CPR -1000 with a net output of 1007 MW and a gross capacity of 1080 MW. Only 1.2 kilometers from the nuclear power plant is also the nuclear power plant Daya Wan.
