Lisbon Lions

The Lisbon Lions ( German: Lisbon Lions ) is the nickname that was given to the team of Celtic Glasgow, who won the European Champions Cup at the Estádio Nacional in Lisbon, Portugal on May 25, 1967 against Inter Milan 2-1. All players are born within a radius of 30 miles (48 kilometers), Glasgow ( Scotland). This Celtic, together with the European Cup winning team of the 1st FC Magdeburg 1974, the only club in European football history to win the trophy with a fully local team. Celtics style was the antithesis of the cynical but highly effective and designated as " Catenaccio " defensive -oriented style, the Inter practiced at that time. Jimmy Johnstone described the play of the Scots as " like the Dutch speeded -up ," she therefore compared with an accelerated version of the Dutch Total Football.
