List of administrative divisions of Tianjin
The list of administrative divisions of Tianjin provides an overview of the inhabitants of the districts of the Chinese city of Tianjin. Listed are also the area, population density and the location of the district in the city of Tianjin.
The centrally-administered city of Tianjin in the People's Republic of China is divided into 13 districts and three counties. The administrative area of Tianjin represents no coherent urban area, but would be similar to its outside the urban core ( high density, closed local form) dominant rural settlement structure rather with a small province.
Boroughs
Downtown
The core city is divided into six districts. These are:
- Heping (和平 区Heping Qū )
- Hexi (河西 区Hexi Qū )
- Hebei ( Hebei河北 区Qū )
- Nankai (南开 区Nankai Qū )
- Hedong (河东 区Hedong Qū )
- Hongqiao (红桥 区Hongqiao Qū ).
Coastal peripheral
A municipality located on the coast in the rural areas outside the core city. It is the " New Town District "
- Binhai (滨海 区Bīnhaǐ Xinqu Founded: January 1, 2010).
It is composed of the former municipalities Tanggu (塘沽 区Tanggu Qū ), Hangu (汉沽 区Hangu Qū ) and Dagang (大港区Dàgǎng Qū ) that were resolved on December 31, 2009.
Periphery
Four districts located inland in the suburbs and rural areas; these are:
- Jinnan (津南 区Jinnan Qū )
- Dongli (东丽 区Dongli Qū )
- Xiqing (西 青 区Xiqing Qū )
- Beichen (北辰 区Beichen Qū ).
Rural Area
Two districts and three counties are further away from the city center in the rural areas outside the urban core; these are:
- Municipality Baodi (宝坻 区Bǎodǐ Qū ) - County until 2001 - and Wuqing (武清 区Wǔqīng Qū ) - County to 2000,
- Wuqing District (武清 区Wǔqīng Qū )
- Ji County (蓟县Ji Xiàn )
- Jinghai county (静海 县Jìnghǎi Xiàn )
- Ninghe County (宁河县Ninghe Xiàn ).
