In this collection, there is the historic aircraft carrier. It includes the aircraft carrier, light carrier and escort carriers, which are deleted from the list of vessels of the Navy ( for example, due to scrapping or total loss ).

Training aircraft carrier

For passenger ships Gneisenau ( 18,160 ts), the sister ship of Potsdam, and Europe ( 47,000 ts) had been ordered also in May 1942 it was converted into aircraft carriers. Due to the low speed Gneisenau and technical difficulties of rebuilding of Europe, both ships were canceled out of the Flugzeugträgerbauprogramm in November 1942. 1942 of the prefabricated captured and still lying on stack of French aircraft carrier Joffre and the completion of the new building freighter Ostmark was considered as an aircraft carrier, but both plans were rejected.
