List of cities in Kyrgyzstan

This is a list of cities in Kyrgyzstan.

The following sortable table lists all 25 cities in the country, (published although no official language, statistics in Kyrgyzstan priority in Russian) whose name in German transcription of the Kyrgyz form of the name, in Kyrgyz, in German transcription of the Russian name, shape and in Russian as well as the number of inhabitants according to the results of the census of 15 January 1959 January 22, 1970 17 January 1979 12 January 1989, 24 March 1999 and 24 March 2009. population figures relate to the actual city without suburban belt.

Cities

A former city is Aksuu area Tschüi that was urban-type settlement under the name Pervomaisky, 1985 as Aksuu ( Russian form Ak - Suu ) City rights were granted, but lost it again in the 1990s and since then has the status of a village ( 2009: 8281 inhabitants).

Former settlements of urban type are:

  • Koschtegirmen ( Kosh- Tegirmen ), Location Tschüi until 1975 ( incorporation to Karabalta )
  • Pervomaisky, Jalalabad area until 1985 ( award of city status and renamed Aksuu / Ak - Suu, since the 1990s, back village)
  • Following cities of Kyrgyzstan had to the award of the municipal law the status of settlements of urban type: Kant, Karabalta, Karakol, Karasuu, Kotschkorata, Schopokow (under the name Krasnooktjabrski ) and Cholpon
