Liudolf, Margrave of Frisia
Liudolf († April 23, 1038 ) from the family of Brunonen was Count in Derlingau and Margrave in Friesland. He was the son of Brun I., the founder of Brunswick († 1015/16 ) and Gisela of Swabia († 1043 ), the second husband, the Duke Ernst I of Swabia and his third wife later Emperor Conrad II married.
Liudolf is therefore the half-brother of the Swabian dukes Ernst II and Hermann IV, but especially of the Emperor Henry III. and Matilda of francs, the first wife of King Henry I of France.
He married Gertrude the Elder of Brunswick († 1077 ), whose origin there is an extensive debate in science.
His descendants are:
- Brun II (c. 1024; † June 26, 1057 ), 1052 Count in Flutwidde
- Egbert I ( † 1068 ), Count of Brunswick, Margrave of Meissen; ∞ Irmgard, daughter of Odalrich - Maginfred Margrave of Turin, widow of Otto of Schweinfurt
- Mathilde, † 1044, married in 1034 Henry I, † 1060, 1031 King of France, the widower of her eponymous aunt
- Ida of Sindelsdorf
