Longay ( Scottish Gaelic: Longaigh ), is a small, uninhabited island of the Inner Hebrides. It lies between the mainland and the island of Scalpay. Together with its neighboring island Pabay Longay was a hideout for pirates in the 16th century.
The name comes from the Norse word Longay: Long - øy and means " ship island ".
