Longpont

Longpont is a commune with 301 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Aisne in the Picardie region; it belongs to the district of the canton of Soissons and Villers -Cotterets. Louis Vierne composed an organ piece with the chimes of Longpont as a theme.

Geography

The community lies on the edge of the Forêt de Retz in the valley of the Ourcq Creek Savières, about 14 kilometers southwest of Soissons.
