Look Who's Talking

Look Who 's Talking! ( in Austria: Look who's talking, original title: Look Who's Talking) is an American comedy film from the year 1989 was directed by Amy Heckerling, who also wrote the screenplay.. The film stars John Travolta and Kirstie Alley. The film was continued with Look Who 's Talking 2 (1990) and Look Who's Talking Now (1993).

Action

Mollie is having an affair with the married businessman Albert and becomes pregnant by him. Heavily pregnant she caught him shopping with his new girlfriend and immediately put her into labor. Albert wants to take any responsibility for his child, and so Mollie is for single parents, after it has reached the delivery room just in time on a breakneck taxi ride. Taxi driver James Ubriacco is very impressed by the beautiful mother. So he not only helps at birth, but soon as a babysitter. Baby Mikey, whose voice the events commented since the beginning of pregnancy, like James and fancies him father. Mollie, however, is not of the opinion that James would be a suitable father, so she arranges to meet some men to find a father for Mikey.

Meanwhile discovers Albert - abandoned by wife and girlfriend - his father feelings and his alleged love for Mollie. You on the other hand recognizes Albert 's true intentions and turns away from him.

After the visit of James' grandfather in the nursing home Mikey suddenly disappears, and in a towed car " car driving " Mollie and James take up the chase and find Mikey finally on a busy intersection again. You can bring him salvation from the street and kiss then.

They are a couple and next to a new father Mikey finally gets a new brother or sister named Julie.

Reviews

Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun- Times newspaper of 13 October 1989 stated that the film had him pleasantly surprised. He criticized the weak action but praised the director Amy Heckerling and the presentation of John Travolta.

Awards

The film won the Golden Screen, the Kids' Choice Award and a People's Choice Award; for the Young Artist Award, he was nominated in the category Best family comedy. David Kitay won the BMI film music award.

Background

The voice of Mikey spoke in the original version, Bruce Willis, in the German- dubbed version of Thomas Gottschalk.
