Lookout! Records

Lookout! Records was an American record label for punk music based in Berkeley, California.

The company was founded in 1987 by Larry Livermore and David Hayes. However, Hayes left the label in 1989 and re- founded the company Very Small Records and Too Many Records. 1997 Larry Livermore sold the company to the former postal worker Chris Appelgren.

Since the founding of Lookout! Records promoted the label Punk-/Pop-Punkbands especially the local Bay Area scene, now it also produces hardcore and indie rock bands.

Label founder Livermore played within the existing 1985 to 1990 punk band The Lookouts ( with the 12 -year-old drummer Tré Cool Green Day later ), the namesake and first publication of the plate then established labels were.

The most significant band of the early years was Operation Ivy. Lookout! Records played for the success of Green Day a big role as the company's first two EPs 1000 Hours and Slappy and the first two albums 39/Smooth and Kerplunk! produced.
