Louis R. Loeffler

Life

Louis R. Loeffler began his career in 1927 as an editor at the Fox Film Corporation, which merged where Loeffler was in 1935 with 20th Century Pictures to 20th Century Fox to the 1950 -year contract. As he came into use in the 1930s exclusively in B- movies, it was used in the 1940s, increasingly, large-scale productions. He most frequently worked with director Otto Preminger, as well as for the classic film Laura (1944 ), Fox and the City ( Where the Sidewalk Ends, 1950), River of No Return ( River of No Return, 1954 ), Carmen Jones ( 1954) the Man with the Golden Arm (The man with the Golden arm, 1955) and Exodus ( 1960). For the two Preminger films Anatomy of a Murder ( Anatomy of a Murder, 1959) and The Cardinal ( The Cardinal, 1963) received Loeffler also each have a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Editing. He died in 1972 at the age of 75 years in Hollywood, and was interred in the Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles.
