Louis V. Gerstner, Jr.

Louis V. Gerstner, Jr. KBE (* March 1, 1942 in Mineola ) is since 2003 the chairman of the Carlyle Group. In addition to his activities in the management of Nabisco, American Express and McKinsey, he gained his reputation as CEO of IBM from 1993 to 2002.

To him, the transformation of IBM is attributed to a modern, service-oriented company, and thus the rescue of one of the world's biggest companies.

Training

1963 Gerstner concluded his studies in engineering at Dartmouth College with a bachelor's degree from. Subsequently, he completed his MBA in 1965 from Harvard Business School.
