Loulou Gasté

Loulou Gasté (born 18 March 1908 in Paris, † January 8, 1995 in Rueil -Malmaison, Hauts -de -Seine département, full name Louis Pierre Marie Felix Gasté ) was a French composer.

Life

Gasté composed in more than 50 years, nearly 1200 songs; some of them have advanced to international bestsellers.

With 21 years Gasté graduated in 1929 as a musician Ray Ventura and his Orchestra on. During this time, as an orchestral musician, he composed and arranged a number of pieces for Ventura. 1945 Gasté made ​​the acquaintance of the singer Line Renaud and married five years later.

In the fall of 1956 Gasté composed the song "Pour toi" to a text by Albert Simoni. With great success of this song Darío Moreno sang in 1956 in the movie Le Feux Poudre aux. 1974 sang the Brazilian Morris Albert, an English version of it, which he initially off as his own composition: " Feelings" reached the Top 5 in the U.S. and the UK. Later versions were sung with their own success, among others, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Sarah Vaughan and Mike Brant. Mike Brant played alongside the English version ( "Feelings "), also a French version. Since Gasté in this song his song "Pour toi" again realized he complained. In the final hearing on 22 December 1988 he was right and it was awarded to him for almost 90 % of the overdue royalties. A German version of Roberto Blanco took in 1997 under the title " To be free " on.

Loulou Gasté died ten weeks before his 87th birthday on January 8, 1995 in Rueil -Malmaison and found his final resting place.
