Lucas Alcaraz

Lucas Alcaraz González ( born June 21, 1966 in Granada ) is a Spanish football coach. Since the end of January 2013 he coached the FC Granada in La Liga.

Coaching career

The beginnings

Alcaraz ' first noteworthy station as a club coach was the commitment to Granada CF, where he worked for three years between 1995 and 1998 in the Segunda División B. In the 1998/1999 season he was coach of the traditional club UD Almería, the descent into the Tercera División, he nevertheless could not prevent. Despite this failure Lucas Alcaraz received the following season the confidence of the Tercera División climber Dos Hermanas CF, with whom he held the class.

Recreativo Huelva

In the two years from 2001 to 2003 Lucas Alcaraz worked at Recreativo Huelva. Right away he reached with his new team the rise in Spain's top flight - after 20 years of abstinence and some time in the Spanish amateur football. But the second year in " Recre " was anything but happy for him - as a Third to last you had the gear back to the Segunda División compete.

Racing & Xerez

Despite the decline its popularity increased in Spain and he was able to stay in La Liga, as he was obliged in the summer of 2003 by Racing Santander. In the seasons 2003/2004 and 2004/2005 it reached just under the league with the Kantabriern. Despite these successful years Alcaraz was released in February 2005. Lucas Alcaraz went for the 2005/2006 season in the Segunda División back. At the end of the season he failed narrowly with Deportivo Xerez on the rise and was replaced by José "Pepe" Murcia.

Real Murcia

Since 2006, coached Lucas Alcaraz Real Murcia. In his first season he reached with his team to third place in Segunda División - with impressive 13 points ahead of fourth-placed - which was enough to ascend. He was then determined by the local press to the best coaches in the Murcia region. After the first round of the 2007/2008 season, Lucas Alcaraz was with his team in a relegation battle mittem the first Spanish league and after a weak start to the second round ( only one point from seven games ) he was replaced by his compatriot Javier Clemente.

Last years

In the summer of 2008 Lucas Alcaraz took over the vacant position of coach at financially troubled Premiership relegated Levante UD, where he was made redundant after a few days since the club was taken over from Valencia by an investor group and presented this Luis García as new coach. On 7 October 2008, he signed a contract with the first division club Recreativo Huelva, where he previously worked successfully. By the end of the 2008/09 season Alcaraz worked in Huelva, so I can work two years at FC Cordoba, one year at the UD Almeria and only two months at Aris Thessaloniki. On January 30, 2013 Alcaraz signed a contract with FC Granada.
