Ludovico Micara

Ludovico Micara OFM Cap ( born October 12, 1775 in Frascati, † May 24, 1847 in Rome) was Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church.

Life

Pope Leo XII. took him in 1824 in pectore in the College of Cardinals on (public 1826). His titular church of Santi Quattro Coronati was. Micara was 1843-1844 Prefect of the Congregation of Rites in 1837 and Cardinal Bishop of Frascati. 1844 to 1847 he was dean of the College of Cardinals and therefore also Cardinal Bishop of Ostia and exercised the office of Prefect of the Roman Curia.

His great- nephew was the Cardinal Clemente Micara ( 1879-1965 ).
