Luigi Perenni

Luigi perenni or Prenn, actually Alois Prenn ( born June 6, 1913 in Kien; † August 28, 1943 in Cervinia ), was an Italian skier and officer.

Biography

Luigi perenni is the Italianate under Fascism name of the Lord Alois Prenn. Perenni grew up in San Candido (South Tyrol ). He was a member of the Mountain School in 1934 founded the Italian armed forces, the Scuola Militare di Alpinismo, eventually became the Centro Alpino Addestramento emerged. Today, the " Luigi perenni " barracks in Courmayeur bears his name.

In August 1943, he died, with the rank of lieutenant, in an accident in sport climbing in Cervinia.

His brother Giovanni perenni was also a successful skiers.

As a member of the Italian military in 1933, he won the 18 - km cross-country ski in the Italian Championships bronze medal. He also won 1938-1941 various Italian champion in cross country and in the combination.

Perenni was at the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, nor as Sergente, member of the Italian winning team at the demonstration military patrol competition, where he won gold together with Enrico Silvestri, Stefano Sertorelli and Sisto Scilligo.

In 1936 he won with Francesco and Carlo Vida Ronc and 1937 with Giuseppe Fabre and Anselmo Viviani the Trofeo Mezzalama. In 1941 he reached Achille Compagnoni, together with Maurizio Fantoni Celeste and Giovani in sports invernali Mondiali in the relay race in third place.
