Luis Robles ( born May 11, 1984 in Fort Huachuca, Arizona) is an American soccer goalkeeper Puerto Rican descent.

Career

In the club

Luis Robles played from 2002 for the football team of the University of Portland. In the meantime, he stood in the squad reserve-team the Colorado Rapids.

During the winter break of 2006/ 07 he joined the second team of the 1st FC Kaiserslautern. Previously, he was of D.C. United drafted, but he chose not to become involved in Major League Soccer.

After the change of Jürgen Macho and injury to Florian Fromlowitz he moved up in the fall of 2007 as a goalkeeper in the second division team. On 17 October 2008, in a 4-1 victory against Rot Weiss Ahlen, Robles made ​​his debut in the Bundesliga 2, when he represented goalkeeper Tobias Sippel. Later in the season 2008/ 09 Robles Sippel superseded as goalkeeper for the first team. In the 2009/10 season he was second goalkeeper behind Sippel again and only came to another use. After promotion to the Bundesliga, he rejected a new contract offer from the 1st FC Kaiserslautern and instead wrote shortly before the start of the new season in the second division club Karlsruher SC.

Since August 2012 Robles is at the New York Red Bulls under contract, for which he debuted on September 30, 2012 under coach Hans Backe in the game against Toronto FC.

In the National Team

Robles was some time in the extended squad of the Puerto Rican national team, but came to no international duty. In early June 2009, he took part in the training camp of the U.S. national team and was appointed the first time in the U.S. squad for the qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup. At the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup Robles was also in the squad of the national team, but was not used here. His first cap for the national team of the United States, he played at the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2009 against Haiti.
