Łukasz Fabiański [ wukaʃ fab aɲski ʲ ] ( born April 18, 1985 in Kostrzyn nad Odra, Poland) is a Polish football goalkeeper.

Career

In the club

The goalkeeper started his career in 1999 at Polonia Słubice. In 2002 he moved to MSP Szamotuły. About the provincial associations Lubuszanin Drezdenko, Sparta Brodnica and Mieszko Gniezno he arrived in 2004 as a reserve goalkeeper for Lech Poznan. During the winter break, he went to Legia Warsaw, where he was first-choice goalkeeper at the start of the 2005/2006 season, after Artur Boruc has moved to Celtic Glasgow. Fabiański missed a single minute throughout the season and was selected alongside winning the championship and the best goalkeeper in the Polish league.

For the season 2007/ 08 he moved to the English Premier League club Arsenal FC. He was there, however, behind Manuel Almunia only goalkeeper at the London giants. The former national team coach Paweł Janas nominated him as the third goalkeeper for the Polish World Cup squad in 2006. Among the last coach of Poland, Leo Beenhakker, he's even become the second national goalkeeper behind Artur Boruc and was in the squad of the Polish national team at the European Championships 2008 in Austria and Switzerland.
