Łukasz Rutkowski

Łukasz Rutkowski ( born January 22, 1988 in Zakopane ) is a Polish ski jumper.

Career

Rutkowski started since 2004 in the FIS Cup. At the Junior World Cup 2006 held in Kranj, Slovenia, he missed fourth in the individual competition the podium just barely. Then he stepped up to the rest of the 2005/06 season in ski jumping Continental Cup (COC ) and was also placed there several times in the top 20. At the beginning of the COC summer 2006, he was jumping erspringen a ninth place in Velenje, but struggled in the further course of the summer always for a place in the second round. In the winter of 2006/ 07 he was able to retrieve only modest benefits and also missed at the Junior World Championships 2007 in Tarvisio than 31 the second passage in the COC. In the COC summer competitions in 2007 he placed also always out of the points. After he had started a little better in the winter season 2007/ 08, he was able to increase in January 2008 and achieve a result in the top ten with an eighth place in Kranj again. He could end of January in Zakopane first qualify for a World Cup competition and reached the 38th place. In the further course of the winter he was able to repeatedly place in the points and celebrate especially towards the end of winter and some of the results in the top ten in the COC. At the Junior World Championship 2008 in Zakopane he missed while in the individual competition in fourth place medal just barely, but was able to win with the team the bronze medal. He also took in the winter of 2007/ 08 also participated in four competitions of the FIS Cup, which he won two. After he always occupied seats in the midfield in July 2008 at the COC summer jumping, he started from August Summer Grand Prix. Here he was, with the exception of the season finale jumping in Liberec always reach the second round. When jumping on 31 August 2008 in Zakopane he could celebrate with a third place his first podium. In the winter season 2008/ 09 Rutkowski first took part in the World Cup always, but always missed the qualification for the first competition round. Only when jumping in Engelberg he could, after recovering from qualification to participate in the actual race. With a 27th place he was able to win the first World Cup points of his career here. After he had only occupied the 67th rank in the qualifying for the Four Hills Tournament in Oberstdorf, he was not considered for the qualification for the New Year's competition in Garmisch -Partenkirchen for the Polish team. On March 21, 2009, he jumped with the Polish team in Teamskifliegen in Planica on rank two and so far only reached his podium finish in the World Cup. In the Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec in 2009, he finished 4th place in the team competition with the Polish team.

His previous best World Cup results he could achieve with 13 seats in the ski flying in Tauplitz and the two competition in Sapporo in January 2010.

Łukasz Rutkowski is the younger brother of Mateusz Rutkowski, the FIS Ski Jumping World Junior Champion 2004.
