Lumsk

Lumsk ( Danish / Norwegian " deceitful " for ) is a Norwegian folk metal band from Trondheim. It combines traditional Norwegian folk with rock and metal. The music includes female vocals with violins and drums.

History

The debut album Åsmund Frægdegjevar was published in August 2003 at Tabu Recordings. The media reaction was overwhelmingly positive, and so the album such as USA / Canada / Mexico ( Candlelight Records ), Russia ( Fono ) and Brazil is soon been licensed ( Haunted Music) in other countries. The band has played ever since at major festivals such as Sweden Rock Festival and The Inferno Festival.

In 2005, the album was followed by Troll. The production was expensive, so in addition to the seven-member cast another guest musicians were involved, including a string quartet, Andreas Elvenes ( The 3rd and the Mortal ) as a singer, winds from the Trondheim Jazz scene, etc. The album reached number 18 of the Norwegian top 40 album charts.

A similarly large effort for operation Lumsk when importing the end of February 2007, published successor Det vilde kor here was still working additionally with a choir (title Skærgaardsø ).

The lyrics of the albums are all in Norwegian. The texts were written not by the band itself, but from respected writers ( for example, Birger Sivertsen and his wife Kristin, Knut Hamsun, etc.). Among other Norwegian myths, tales and legends, as well as experiences of nature of content in processed.
