Lynn Collins

Lynn Collins ( born May 16, 1977 in Texas as Viola Lynn Collins ) is an American actress.

Life and career

Collins attended the Juilliard School, then she appeared in several plays by William Shakespeare in the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles. After the appearance in an episode of the television series Law & Order: New York from 1999 to 2001 played a supporting role in the television drama Earth Angels. In the TV comedy One for the Money (2002) she played one of the major roles. In the film drama The Merchant of Venice ( 2004) on a play by Shakespeare, she appeared in the role of Portia opposite Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons and Joseph Fiennes. For this role she was nominated for a Golden Satellite Award in 2005.

In horror movie Bug ( 2006) Collins plays the role of the RC, the work colleague and lesbian lover of Agnes (Ashley Judd ). In the thriller The Number 23, she played alongside Jim Carrey some roles.

In March 2008 it was announced that Collins has married nine years his junior fellow actor Steven Strait. Collins currently lives in New York City and London.
