Tempe is a city in the U.S. state of Arizona ( United States) and merges into Arizona's capital of Phoenix. Tempe has 161 719 inhabitants (as of 2010), it is like a number of other cities for the greater Phoenix area.

The metropolitan area has a size of 104.1 km ². Tempe is the headquarters of U.S. Airways and the Arizona State University, the second largest number of students according to University of the United States.

Unlike Phoenix Tempe by the campus of Arizona State University, an attractive town center, where more pedestrians than cars can be found. There are many bars and restaurants, which are mainly used by the students of the University.

By Tempe extend Interstate 10, U.S. Highway 60 and Arizona State Routes 101 and 202
