Lynn Kanuka-Williams

Lynn Williams ( born Kanuka, born July 11, 1960 in Regina ) is a former Canadian middle and long distance runner.

She celebrated her greatest sporting success by winning the bronze medal in the 3000 -meter run at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. She reached the target in 8:42,14 minutes behind Maricica Puica ( 8:35,96 min) and Wendy Sly ( 8:39,47 min). This race was the audience mainly remembered for the overthrow of the US-American favorite Mary Decker after a collision with Zola Budd.

1986 Williams won at the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh in 3000 -meter run. At the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988 she reached the eighth place in the 1500 meter race in fifth place over 3000 m. In addition, it was five times Canadian champion, four times in the 3000 -meter run (1983, 1984, 1986, 1987 ) and once in the 1500 -meter run (1988). In the road race, she was a three-time winner of the Vancouver Sun Run successfully ( 1987-1989).

Lynn Williams is 1,53 m tall and weighed about 48 kg competition times. She is married to the former long-distance runner and Olympian Paul Williams.
