Magnus Carlsson

Magnus Carlsson (* 24 June 1974 in Borås, Sweden) is a Swedish Dansband and pop singer.

Biography

Magnus Carlsson grew up with two brothers in Fristad, outside Borås, on. He studied music six years, including four years at the Academy of Music at the University of Gothenburg. He is best known as the singer of the Swedish Dansband Barbados, where he remained from 1991 to 2002. On 13 December 2002 he became a member of the pop group Alcazar. The European breakthrough for the group in 2002 with the hit single Crying at the Discotheque. Carlsson lives openly gay and entertained at times a relationship with Andreas Lundstedt. Carlsson lives with his husband Mats in Stockholm.

Euro Vision Song Contest

Carlsson took part in the years 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007 on the Swedish pre-selection for the Euro Vision Song Contest. 2003 and 2005, he participated as a member of Alcazar and took it with Not a sinner, not a saint (2003) and Alcastar (2005 ) each finished third. On 25 February 2006, he appeared as a solo artist with the song Lev livet! to which was written by Anders Glenmark and Niklas Strömstedt and reached the number 1 in the Swedish charts. In 2007, he joined with the written Danne Atlerud, Thomas Törnholm and Michael Claus Title Live Forever on February 17 in the third preliminary round of Melodifestivalen in, but could not reach the final.
