Maikammer (Verbandsgemeinde)

The community association Maikammer is an administrative unit in the form of a local authority in the district of Southern Wine Route in Rhineland- Palatinate. The municipality consists of three independent local churches, the council is based in the eponymous municipality Maikammer.

History

The community association Maikammer was from projects launched in the 1960s, Rhineland-Palatinate, functional and territorial reform on the basis of the " Thirteenth state law on administrative simplification in the land of Rhineland -Palatinate " dated 1 March 1972 entered into force on 22 April 1972 newly formed.

On 1 July 2014, the municipality Maikammer is resolved and reclassified the communities in the municipality Edenkoben.

The blazon of the arms is: " In silver and blue eightfold split sign board in silver, a blue pole, topped with a silver district mark in the form of an ascending arrow, the shaft ends in a cross shape, right a blue cross, the shaft of which is hook-shaped top bent linkshin and left a blue horseshoe with down swept Stollen ".

It was approved by the district government Neustadt in 1977 and contains elements of the coat of arms of the three local churches.

Economy and infrastructure

Viticulture and wine processing plants are the dominant economic force in the vebandsangehörigen communities. The under vines stretching east of the Haardt mountains to a width of about 8 km to the Rhine valley. The service sector is due to the foreign transport-related development in the parishes of St. Martin and Maikammer particularly strong. Workplaces are here mainly in the accommodation and catering establishments and facilities of trade.
