Bad Bergzabern (Verbandsgemeinde)

The municipality Bad Bergzabern is an administrative unit in the form of a local authority in the district of Southern Wine Route in Rhineland- Palatinate. The municipality belong to the spa town of Bad Bergzabern and 20 independent local churches, the council is based in the eponymous town of Bad Bergzabern.

History
The municipality Bad Bergzabern was from projects launched in the 1960s, Rhineland-Palatinate territorial and administrative reform on the basis of the " Thirteenth state law on administrative simplification in the land of Rhineland -Palatinate " dated 1 March 1972 entered into force on April 22, 1972 newly formed.

The association council Bad Bergzabern consists of 36 volunteer council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 a personalized proportional representation, and the full-time mayor as chairman.

Mayor
Herrmann drill ( SPD) is the municipality mayor since 1999. Full-time Assistant is Martin Engelhard ( FWG ). Volunteer Assistant are Eva Wagner- Seifert ( GREEN ) and Stefan Hitziger ( FWG ).
Coat of arms
The blazon of the arms is: " In four-fold split of red and gold sign board upper right corner diagonally crossed in gold with the beard down introspective red colored key with a red cross, lance, top left in black a rotgedecktes silver lock, bottom right in black and a growing left inverted rotbewehrter and bezungter golden lion, bottom left in silver, a green sloping beams, beseitet top left of a slanted green Sesel, bottom right of a slanted green vine leaf ".
It was approved in 1982 by the district government Neustadt. The first three fields are the monasteries Klingenmünster and White Castle, the rule Guttenberg and the Electoral Palatinate for the former territorial lords. The fourth field, which considerably influenced the municipality importance of vineyards is presented.
