Dierbach

Dierbach is a municipality in the Southern Wine Route in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Bad Bergzabern.

Geography

The municipality is located 6 km east of Bad Bergzabern on the German Wine Route, between the biosphere reserve Palatinate Forest and the Rhine.

History

For the first time the place was in 1084 in a document from Pope Clement III. mentioned.

Religion

In 2007, 66 percent of the population Protestant and 15.7 percent Catholic. The other belonged to a different religion or no religious affiliation were.

The local council in Dierbach consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Coat of arms

The blazon of the arms is: " split from gold and red in the lower half of the shield covered with a blue wave bar, right border blue reinforced and bezungter red lion, left a growing of the wave beam, burning golden candle ".

It was established in 1950 approved by the Mainz Ministry of Interior.

Attractions

The town's landmark is the Protestant village church of St. Anne of 1502. The church was built in 1502-1513 by Hensel Ryel of Barbelroth and his wife Margaretha house in honor of St. Anne. The building is built in the late Gothic style of the Bavarian school. In 1606, after the Church became Protestant in the 16th century, the nave windows were enlarged.

The choir of the simple church is provided with a reticulated vault whose ribs grow over differently shaped consoles. The stained glass windows from the late Gothic tracery possess rich with different shapes.

The church from the Baroque period equipment is fully preserved.
