Rinnthal

Rinnthal is a municipality in the Southern Wine Route in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Annweiler am Trifels.

Geographical location

The municipality is located in the Palatinate Forest Nature Park. After completion of the bypass, the B 10 1997 Rinnthal was freed from through traffic, the purpose-built tunnels are among the longest in Rhineland- Palatinate. Numerous houses were subsequently renovated and greatly enhanced the townscape.

Religion

Since the Reformation in the 16th century Rinnthal is characterized as evangelical Wilgartswiesen and Spirkelbach. In 2007, about 75 % of the population Protestant and 10% Catholic. The remaining 15% belonged to another religion or were non-denominational.

Parish council

The local council in Rinnthal consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

The Coat of Arms description is: " Argent, a stylized goldbewurzelter green oak tree with golden acorns ."

Attractions

The center of the resort is designed by Joseph Daniel Ohlmüller under the influence of Leo von Klenze classical village church, which was consecrated in 1834 after three years of construction.

Near the railway station is located on the stream of Queich Villa Steiner, which was built in 1896. After the renovation in 2003, it is once again available for tourism.
