Ranschbach

Ranschbach is a municipality in the Southern Wine Route in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Landau - country, which has its headquarters in the city of Landau in der Pfalz.

Geographical location

The community is a wine village located 8 kilometers west of Landau in der Pfalz directly on the German Wine Route.

History

A first mentioned in a document in the spelling " Ranspach " 1299th Ranschbach was 1205, the rule Madenburg belonging. Already in 1225 the place was jurisdiction and was the property of the bishops of Speyer.

The local council in Ranschbach consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

The coat of arms description reads: "In a silver green oblique wave beams, beseitet top of a six-pointed silver star, down from a silver lily ".

Pilgrimage Church of All Saints

At the foot of the mountain Neukasteler just west outside of the town is the cold Brunn source. Here it is said to have been given in pre-Christian times, a spring sanctuary. In the Middle Ages there was a Marian pilgrimage to their care and organization in 1662 a chaplain was adjusted. 1973 began with the excavation of the foundations of the ancient Sanctuary. In the 1980s, the source acquired through regional notoriety and because of the rush of visitors was followed by a closure. Meanwhile, the source is available again.
