Venningen
Venningen is a municipality in the Southern Wine Route in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Edenkoben.
Geography
The wine-growing village located three kilometers east of Edenkoben between the biosphere reserve Palatinate Forest and the Rhine. To Venningen also includes forest settlement Helmbach.
History
For the first time the place in the year 859 was mentioned.
Religion
2012 were 64.8 percent of the population Catholic and 19.4 percent Protestant. The other belonged to a different religion or no religious affiliation were. Catholics belong to the diocese of Speyer, the Evangelical Lutheran Church for Protestant Palatinate.
Parish council
The local council in Venningen consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
