Oberschlettenbach

Oberschlettenbach is a municipality in the Southern Wine Route in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Bad Bergzabern.

Geography

The place Oberschlettenbach (forest community ) is the smallest municipality in the district and is located in the biosphere reserve Palatinate Forest -Vosges du Nord. Neighboring municipalities are - clockwise - Swan Home, Darstein, Vorderweidenthal and Busenberg.

To Oberschlettenbach includes the residential places Bühlhof and Hahnenhof.

History

The place was first mentioned in documents as Slethebach in 1313. He belonged to the rule Lindelbrunn and thus to influence the Leininger.

Religion

In 2007, 54.4 percent of the population Protestant and 14.7 percent Catholic. The other belonged to a different religion or no religious affiliation were.

The local council in Oberschlettenbach consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Coat of arms

The blazon of the arms is: " split by a wave line of blue and silver, right rotbewehrter silver eagle, left on a blue Lillie with golden whorl octagonal blue chapel ".

It was approved in 1982 by the district government Neustadt. The eagle recalls the former rights of the Leininger.
