Hochstadt, Rhineland-Palatinate

Hochstadt (Pfalz ) is a municipality in the Southern Wine Route in Rhineland- Palatinate. In the local dialect the place Houschd is called, its residents Houschder. Hochstadt part of the community association Offenbach at the Queich.

Geography

The municipality comprises the two villages of Upper and Lower Hochstadt Hochstadt.

To top Hochstadt also includes the residential places station Hochstadt and Fuchsmühle.

History

The previously independent municipalities Niederhochstadt (then 1,467 inhabitants) and Upper High city (744 inhabitants ) were released on June 7, 1969 in the Rhineland-Pfalz administrative reform and the local church Hochstadt (Pfalz ) is newly formed. In 1972, the allocation to the municipality Offenbach at the Queich, which has its administrative seat in the same community Offenbach.

Religion

In 2007, 57.6 percent of the population Protestant and 27.8 percent Catholic. The other belonged to a different religion or no religious affiliation were.

Coat of arms

The blazon of the arms is: " divided by gold and red, above a floating black ring, below a suspended eight-pointed silver cross of St. John ".
