Gossersweiler-Stein
Gossersweiler-Stein is a municipality in the Southern Wine Route in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Annweiler am Trifels, within which it forms the third largest municipality with about 1400 inhabitants. Gossersweiler-Stein is a nationally recognized resort.

Geography
The municipality is located in Wasgau, which is formed from the southern part of the Palatinate Forest and the northern part of the Vosges, in the center of the Gossersweilerer Valley. It consists of two districts Gossersweiler and stone. At the eastern edge of settlement Gossersweiler the Kaiser Bach springs.
Neighboring municipalities are - clockwise - Völkersweiler, Waldrohrbach, Silz (Pfalz ), Vorderweidenthal, Darstein, Dimbach (Pfalz ) and Lug (Pfalz ). Striking elevations on the community district are the Rötzenberg ( 459 m), Dimberg (418 m ) to the district border to Dimbach and lies and the acorn mountain ( 406 m). In addition, located within the municipal boundaries several rock formations such as the Issel man - stones, the three rocks, the rocks and the Engelmann Krimhildenstein.
History
The two places Gossersweiler and stone belonged to the late 18th century to Electoral Palatinate. After taking the left bank of the Rhine by French revolutionary troops (1794 ), both towns from 1798 to 1814 were assigned to the Canton Annweiler in the department of Thunder Mountain and were managed by the Mairie in Swan home. Because of the Congress of Vienna (1815 ) agreements, the Palatinate, and thus the communities Gossersweiler and stone were initially been assigned to Austria. In a 1816 closed treaty Austria ceded the region to the Kingdom of Bavaria from. The Bavarian State Annweiler now belonged to the newly created Rheinkreis provisionally nor to the District Two bridges formed from the previous district and came on August 1, 1816 District Landau. On the eastern outskirts of Gossersweiler is a commercial area. At the foot of Engelmann rock elementary school Gossersweiler- stone, the Bergland Hall and the local volunteer fire department are located just outside the settlement areas of the two districts. The former is attended by about 180 students, their catchment area also includes the municipalities Völkersweiler, Waldrohrbach, Waldhambach, Silz and Munchweiler. Tourism
Gossersweiler stone is possible starting point for hikes and mountain bike tours in the Palatinate Forest. Four kilometers away is the castle ruins Lindelbrunn. The ruins of Landeck and the Trifels are in the vicinity. The trails are signposted through the Palatinate Forest Association. With the connection to the regional cycle network day tours are at the Southern Wine Route, possible to Alsace or the Dahn country. Other attractions are the village of Hauenstein shoe and the Biosphere House in Fischbach.
