Wernersberg

Werner Berg is a municipality in the Southern Wine Route in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Annweiler am Trifels.

Geography

The place is between Annweiler am Trifels and Bad Bergzabern. From natives of the place is often referred to affectionately as the cuckoo's nest. The landmark of the Palatine community is the Geierstein. The view from Wachtfels ( 387 m high) and the round hat offer a wonderful view over the Palatinate Forest. Lots of well- marked hiking, biking and equestrian trails are excellent on the information board in the village center.

Werner Berg was first mentioned in a document dated July 1, 1283 in the spelling of " Wern Here mountains ".
