Ramberg, Rhineland-Palatinate

Ramberg is a municipality in the Southern Wine Route in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Annweiler am Trifels. Ramberg is a nationally recognized resort.

Geographical location

Ramberg is in the Palatinate Forest Nature Park around 7 kilometers (direct distance ) north-northeast of Annweiler am Trifels. The village is crossed in a north-south direction from Dernbach (inflow of Eisbach ) and is surrounded by wooded mountains. A few hundred meters north of the residential area of the town begins the Holpertal.

On the Schlossberg stands above the village are the ruins of Ramburg. More ruins near Ramberg are: Frankenstein rock, castle and castle Meistersel Neuscharfeneck. Striking elevations on boundaries of the community include the Drenselberg (524 m), the Schindl head ( 510 m) and the chicken head ( 477 m).

Neighboring municipalities are - clockwise - Roschbach, Edesheim, Rhodt, Weyher in the Palatinate, Edesheim, grove field (Pfalz ), Burrweiler, Flemlingen, Dernbach (Pfalz ), Böchingen, Walsheim and Burrweiler.

The local council in Ramberg consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

In the center of the home and museum association of brush-making craft a Bürstenbindermuseum has set up in which you can learn everything about history, production and trade of brooms and brushes.
