Mairana

Mairana is a country town in the department of Santa Cruz in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Mairana is the central place of the district ( bolivian: Municipio) Mairana in the province of Florida. The city is located in the eastern Andes Mountains at an altitude of 1330 m in a long valley between the foothills of the Cordillera Oriental, on the right bank of the Río Quirusillas.

Geography

Mairana is located in the transition zone between the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Central in the west and the Bolivian lowlands to the east. The climate is due to the sheltered valley less hot and humid than the nearby lowlands.
