Malá Domaša

Malá Domaša (Hungarian Kisdomása ) is a municipality in eastern Slovakia.

The Malá Domaša lies on the River Ondava, which is only two kilometers below the VeLka Domaša Dam dammed here again. The reservoir ( Vodná nádrž Malá Domaša ) is much smaller (1,500 meters long and 200 meters wide ) and shallower than the large lake north lying. The Ondavatal is about four miles wide and is surrounded by foothills of the mountain Ondauer country ( Ondavská Highlands ) flanked. The city Vranov nad Topľou enrfernt is 15 km from Malá Domaša.

By Malá Domaša the highway leads 15 (other name: I/15 ) of Svidník to Vranov nad Topľou, as portion of the transit route of south-eastern Poland to Hungary.

The place was first mentioned in 1317. The Roman Catholic church was built in 1769.

In Malá Domaša live almost exclusively Slovaks. 1991, 34 Roma lived in the town. 90 % of the population are Roman Catholics, 8 % reported as a confession of Greek- Catholic.
