Malakal Island

Malakal, also called Ngemelachel, is a small island in the western Pacific Ocean; it belongs geographically to the Palau Islands, geopolitically to the administrative area of the island of Koror Republic of Palau.

The approximately 1.1 km ² island is about 700 meters southwest of the island of Koror, with which it is connected by a causeway and small bridges. At the highest point of the island ( Kal, 124 meters away) is a radio mast. In Malakal, there are several boat landings, smaller yards and hotel facilities. On the southeast coast is the main port of Koror ( Port of Palau ).
