Criticism

Malice n Wonderland scored mixed reviews. Gregory Heaney -reviewed the album for the music database Allmusic. He comes to the conclusion that Snoop Dogg was not a relic of the past G-Funk days. On the album you can hear the trends in rap music in its entirety, in addition to a retrospective of his career: his beginnings in the G- Funk, Crunk, Dirty South and his time with The Neptunes. It succeeded Snoop Dogg at the same time to put his continued relevance to the test and to underline his veteran status.

David Amidon is in the e-zine Popp Matters out the stronger unity in comparison with its predecessor, Ego Trippin ', and attributes this to cleverly sequencing and precise track list. Despite the overall more cohesive aesthetic of music production would be made the same mistake on Malice n Wonderland, as on the previous album: Snoop Dogg 'll occasionally cut out of his guest rappers Soulja Boy and The-Dream.

Success

The album could not place in the U.S. Billboard 200, but reached into the side charts high rankings. So it scored in the Billboard charts for rap albums place 2 at a residence time of 15 weeks. 5th place in the R & B / Hip- Hop Albums charts was achieved, with the album spent 33 weeks. Allmusic lists for album number 23 on the Billboard 200
