Malinao Volcano

The Malinao, also Buhi or Takit, is a 1548 m high stratovolcano in the Philippines. It lies on the border of the provinces of Albay and Camarines Sur, in the Bicol Region, on the island of Luzon near the Mayon volcano and Masaraga.

The forested mountain is described as extinct stratovolcano that was active 500000-60000 years ago, ie in the Quaternary. The most extensive Geothermalquellenfelder located on the island of Luzon on the eastern side of the volcano. Two extended thermal source fields are the Naglabong and the Tiwi Hot Spring field.
