Malungon, Sarangani

Malungon is a Philippine municipality in the province of Sarangani. It has 95 044 inhabitants ( census May 1, 2010 ).

Geography

Malungon is located in the inland town in the north-east of Sarangani. It is bordered to the west by the province of Tupi in South Cotabato to the north and east by the province of Davao del Sur, on the south by Alabel and General Santos City and Polomolok in the southwest by the province of South Cotabato.

Economy

Malungons economy is largely based on agriculture and to a large extent on the Kopragewinnung. Animal husbandry is the second most important source of income, especially cattle. Other agricultural products are coconuts, maize, sugarcane, bananas, pineapples, mangoes, pork, eggs, beef and fish.

Economic growth has been accelerated by the global communication, and due to the completion of a modern highways over the last decade, making the trade and transport options have been greatly improved.
