Malapatan, Sarangani

Malapatan is a Philippine municipality in the province of Sarangani.

The majority of the inhabitants are from the origin Ilonggos.

Geography

Malapatan lies to the east of the bay of Sarangani. The municipality is bordered to the east by the province of Davao del Sur, on the north by Alabel and on the south by Glan.

Economy

Malapatans economy is largely based on agriculture and especially on the Kopragewinnung. Animal husbandry is the second most important source of income, especially cattle. Other agricultural products are coconuts, maize, sugarcane, bananas, pineapples, mangoes, pork, eggs, beef and fish.

Economic growth has been accelerated by the global communication capabilities due to the completion of a modern highways over the last decade, making the trade and transport options have been greatly improved.
