Manfeild Autocourse

The Manfeild Car Course is a motorsport race track in Feilding New Zealand, about 130 km northeast of the capital Wellington.

The route, which is considered very sophisticated in its present form, was built in 1973 and enlarged in 1990 to meet international standards. It is extremely popular with spectators and drivers. In addition to racing events will be held a variety of public events on the track area.

History

The Manfeild Car Course was built in 1973 by the Manawatu Car Club Incorporated and inaugurated. At first he had a length of 3,033 meters. In 1990, the Automobile Club bought land and augmented the route, which was homologated as a result, among others, by the FIM for motorcycle racing.

In 2004, the three owners closed their reason, the circuit is located along the Manfeild Park Trust to promote the development of the area, on which also is still a 7750 -square-foot multi-purpose stadium, among other things, which is often used as an equestrian center. In the future, the construction of new pit facilities, a driving safety center and an agricultural business park is planned.

Route data

The circuit is applied very variable. The slope can be used in three different lengths of 1.5 km, 3.0 km and 4.5 km clockwise and counter -clockwise.

Events

Today, a variety of races to New Zealand national racing series such as Formula Ford, the Mini Challenge, the Porsche GT3 Cup or the Toyota Racing Series will be held on the Manfeild Car Course. In addition to the route area a variety of public events are held, including horse shows, conventions, bicycle races and fireworks.

Between 1988 and 1992, the World Superbike Championship has appeared four times on the track.
